Lydgalleriet showcases the installation 138 prepared dc motors, cotton balls, cardboard boxes 40x40x40cm by Zimoun. This work is part of a series inspired by Karl Popper's 'Clocks and Clouds' concept. Zimoun's work features simple mechanical movements that form complex soundscapes, emphasising minimal design differences to create unique, life-like installations without control systems.

Popper viewed the physical world as a continuum between two extremes, with regular, deterministic «clocks» on one side and irregular, indeterministic «clouds» on the other. Zimoun's practice can be seen as a continuation of this binary, rhythmic experimentation. In recent years, he has produced installations based on small mechanical movements that are individually simple and clear, but collectively form a changing soundscape as the movements phase in and out.

Zimoun is part of a kinetic scene that moves away from microcontrollers and computer systems, instead attempting to give objects a life of their own through minimal differences in design. No control system is involved and one could say that work speaks to us as a multi-headed body, each with individual characteristics.
