For stadig å bli

During the concert at Bergen public library, the singers of choir 'Gneis' could only hear one or two of the others performing. The song thus wandered between them like a delayed impulse, pushed forward with tiny changes.

For stadig å bli is a criterion for 15 separate voices. The piece discusses notions such as listening and distance, and is based on recordings from a concert in Bergen public library, where singers in the choir 'Gneis' performed for a wandering audience.

The piece explores limits of sensation (listening), response and interaction extensively in time and space. The singers heard only one or two of the other singers in progress, the song wandering between them as a delayed impulse, pushing forward with tiny changes. In Lydgalleriet, the installation with all 15 voices is installed in a soft, compact space, with 15 loudspeakers playing one voice each.

The project is supported by Arts Council Norway, Bergen City Council and and Bergen Center for Electronic Art.
