Atelier Nord is a platform for contemporary art with a focus on media art, producing exhibitions, screenings, performances and workshops for their gallery space in the Grünerløkka neighbourhood of Oslo.

Atelier Nord facilitates art production by offering a studio for audio and video editing. In addition to the gallery space, their office space can be used for artist talks, screenings and smaller exhibitions.

Atelier Nord was one of the founding organisations of PNEK (Produksjonsnettverk for elektronisk kunst), which was outphased by Arts Council Norway in 2020.

I/O

In Yuko Mohri's sculptural installation I/O, paper rolls move slowly, picking up dust and other particles from the gallery space. This particular debris attaches itself to the rollers, which then are scanned and converted to random electronic input-output signals.

Sound work in gallery spaces

The primary goal of the workshop is to equip participants with practical tools and knowledge to enhance sound presentation in exhibition spaces. Through hands-on exercises and demonstrations, fundamental principles of sound, listening, and acoustics will be explored. Specific challenges related to each venue will be discussed, and collaborative solutions will be developed to effectively utilise spaces for showcasing diverse sound types.
