LYDHØRT was a series of four projects developed for Lydgalleriet during 2014-15 by Daniela Cascella, Signe Lidén, Julie Lillelien Porter and Rune Søchting.

The group had their first gathering at Halsnøy Kloster at Lidén's country house in October 2013, and each of the projects artistically explore processes of translation, transformation, resonance and interference.

The artists and activities presented under LYDHØRT covered a wide range of languages and formats, from text to object, installation to performance. The projects brought it together by drawing attention to sound, due to sound's ability to create territories, evoke memories, and establish connections between individuals, forms, and genres.

The focus is not only on the material or sensory aspects of sound, but on sound as a complex social and communicative phenomenon. Sound is the in-between, binding together and encompassing various processes. The LYDHØRT project explored processes of translation, transformation, resonance and interference.

Each project was independently devised by one of the curators and developed from collective activities and from an ongoing dialogue. The artists and activities presented within LYDHØRT pertained to a wide range of languages and formats, from objects to texts, installations to performances, readings and events.

The four projects are Skog and Hegre at work, Room Tone, Writing Sound 2 and Small Wrists.
