Høstlyd was a mini festival for experimental sound, over the course of a week in Østre Skostredet 3 and Landmark, curated by Erlend Hammer.
Tuesday September 12th: Charles Curtis plays Eliane Radigue, Østre Skostredet 3:
Curtis plays a specially written solo cover for cello by the French composer Eliane Radigue. The week before Curtis arrives, Radigue receives the prestigious Digital Musics Prize under Prix Ars Electronica in Linz. The concert is held on the floor of the gallery's future showroom, giving a distinctive mood no different from New York's legendary loft concerts in the 60s and 70s.
Wednesday, September 13: Charles Curtis plays works by Alvin Lucier, Landmark:
The American composer Alvin Lucier visited Landmark last spring. Lucier has also written a piece specifically for Charles. Lucier explores what happens when the boundaries between music and physics are wiped out.
Thursday September 14th: Leif Elggren and Brandon LaBelle, Landmark:
At Landmark, Elggren will play a set with sounds from the computer's interior, mixed with sounds from nature's outer world. LaBelle has made a new performance that has not yet been given a title, but will contain eight people, some ghettoblasters, some little bells and motion sensor technology.
Friday 15th September: Exhibition opening in Østre Skostredet 3 with Sandra Truté, Atle Selnes Nielsen, Arne Bakke and Gunnar Innvær.
Curated by Erlend Hammer, co-produced by Lydgalleriet and Landmark.
