Steinar Sekkingstad was one of the founders of Lydgalleriet, and has been board member in organisations such as Borealis and Tag-Team Studio. He co-founded Bergen Kunsthall’s concert series Utmark, running continuously since 2008, presenting experimental underground music from all genres.
Steinar Sekkingstad studied art history at the University of Bergen, specialising in sound art, with a thesis on sound in contemporary art from 2004. Sekkingstad has been a member of the expert committee for visual arts at Arts Council Norway (2016-2018) and worked as curator at Bergen Kunsthall for a number of years (2007-2022). He has edited a number of publications and written about contemporary art for magazines, publications and exhibition catalogues.
