Els Viaene started her work as a sound artist and field recordist in 2001. The natural rhythms and textures of the sounds hidden in landscapes form the basis of her work. Through specific use and set-up of sound within selected sites, her installations create new spaces within existing ones, emphasising the complexities of the spaces we inhabit.
