Felix Thorn specialises in self-built instruments that play his compositions. His instruments are made from conventional, acoustic instruments, mostly various types of percussion, assembled in new ways that produce different timbres and associations.
Thorn comes to Bergen with his amazing automated instruments, built at home in South London and will be shown in Lydgalleriet as an installation. Felix's Machines are controlled by a computer playing compositions like a modern automated orchestra. Thorn was presented last year with an exhibition at Gasworks. He will be in Lydgalleriet for two weeks and will host two concerts in addition to the exhibition.
