Ecstatic Material combines sound and matter from Beatrice Dillon and Keith Harrison, with a jointly developed installation combining euphoric and alchemical aspects domestic life into a mixed sensory series of elasticity, interference and reaction.
This live performance combines live electronic sound together with various household substances in a jointly developed installation, created by musician and producer Beatrice Dillon and visual artist Keith Harrison. Ecstatic Material is conducted through a modular system made up of malleable materials, light and multi-channel audio which is constructed, choreographed and diffused live at Lydgalleriet.
Stacks of generic plastic packing crates fused with car speaker cones are filled with multicoloured gloop that moves and changes as experimental sound is fed through them, creating a constantly evolving choreographed performance landscape. Drawing upon Harrison’s renowned art practice transforming raw materials and Dillon’s rhythmic computer music compositions, this jointly developed palette bends sound and material.
Presented in collaboration with Borealis- a festival for experimental music, produced by Lydgalleriet.
