At Lydgalleriet we are looking forward to an octoponic intimate version of BJNilsen's field recording and Hildur's cello loops and delicate sound processing.

BJNilsen (b,1975 Sweden) is a sound and recording artist, has since 1990 been putting out work in various constellatio ns. Primarily focused on the sound of nature and its effect on humans, field recordings and the perception of time and space as experienced through sound, often electronically treated. He has worked for documentary film, television and sound engineer. Nilsen has collaborated with Chris Watson, Johann Johannsson, Fennesz, Stilluppsteypa, DJ Musician, Curver, Pétur Eyvindsson, Hildur Gudnadóttir, Z’ev, Lina Baby Doll, Joachim Nordwall, Darri Lorenzen and as part of and Spire and Freq-Out collectives.www.bjnilsen.comwww.myspace.com/bjnilsenwww.freq-out.org

Hildur Gudnadottir (b. 1982) is a cellist and composer. She has a rich catalogue of collaborations and varied projects behind her. She has played frequently with field recording artist and performer BJ Nilsen; delicate duets that conjure somber rapture of multi tracked cello – Gudnadóttir’s live playing augmented by laptop loops. She has also collaborated, played and recorded with other artists such as Skuli Sverrisson, Hilmar Jensson, Hafler trio, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Nico Muhly, Valgeir Sigurdsson, Angel, SchneiderTM, Ben Frost and StilluppsteypaAs a composer she has written music for plays, dance performances and films, pieces for chamber orchestras, various instruments, voices and electronics. Gudnadóttir likes to explore the nature and movement of sound, and often turns her experiments into sound and visual installations. She recently co-composed a live soundtrack to Derek Jarman’s 1980 film In The Shadow of The Sun with legends Throbbing Gristle, arranged choir for performances by them in Austria and London, and now latest with Carte Blanche in Bergen.www.hildurness.com
