Den palestinske lydkunstneren Dirar Kalash er kjent for sitt mangfoldige repertoar av musikalske og lydmessige uttrykk, som overskrider konvensjonelle grenser gjennom instrumentale, kompositoriske og improvisatoriske strukturer. Dirar er også en av initiativtagerner til Exist Festival, et palestinsk-organisert internasjonalt prosjekt som forsterker stemmer og fortellinger fra marginaliserte samfunn. I tillegg viser hans engasjement som en av grunnleggerne av Sonic Front et vitnesbyrd om hans dedikasjon til å utfordre grenser og konvensjoner innen lydlandskap. 

I mars 2024 har Vers Libre og Lydgalleriet invitert Dirar til Bergen for et 10-dagers arbeidsopphold, og han vil dele og fremføre sitt arbeid på ulike arrangement gjennom oppholdet: 

SmalPrat med Dirar Kalash og Tijs Ham på Lydgalleriet, fredag 22. mars 2024, 11.00. 
Her forteller Dirar om sine arbeidsmetoder og interesser gjennom rammeverket Sonic Front der han utfordrer grenser og konvensjoner innen lydlandskap. Dirar arbeider også tverrfaglig teoretisk forskning, som gir dybde og innsikt i hans kunstneriske praksis. I samarbeid med nyMusikk Bergen og Vers Libre. Gratis og åpent for alle!

Special solo saxophone concert in Fabrikkhallen på Bergen Kjøtt, tirsdag 26.mars, 19.30. 
Denne akustiske saksofonkonserten markerer Dirars siste kveld i Bergen. Dirar er dypt forankret i et levende nettverk av arabisk opprinnelse og internasjonale kunstnere, der tilstedeværelsen hans strekker seg utover studioet gjennom liveopptredener som denne. Palestinian sound artist Dirar Kalash is known for his diverse repertoire of musical and sonic expressions, transcending conventional boundaries through instrumental, compositional and improvisational structures. Dirar is also the initiator of Exist Festival, a Palestinian-organised international project that amplifies voices and narratives from marginalised communities. Additionally, his involvement as one of the founders of Sonic Front bears witness to his dedication to challenging boundaries and conventions within the sonic landscape.

In March 2024, Vers Libre and Lydgalleriet have invited Dirar to Bergen for a 10-day residency, during which he will share and present his work at various events throughout his stay:
